Dr. Michelle Sanders-Truelsen grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. After spending time working as a veterinary technician, she embarked upon a big life change and moved to Northern Idaho, obtaining her bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Idaho in animal science and microbiology. The next step of her journey took her to the West Coast where she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with honors from the Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California.

Dr. Sanders joined our team in July 2016 as our medical director. While she truly enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, she particularly enjoys client education, behavior and training, dental care, and internal medicine. Dr. Sanders shares her home with her husband Kyle, their boy Dylan, their dogs Piper and Penny, and two sweet kitties. When she isn’t working, she enjoys attending concerts, swimming, kayaking, biking, hiking, cooking and baking, and training with her dogs.
